The American company 3M and the Taiwanese How Computers have announced work on a new touchscreen technology, called Dispersive Signal Technology (DST). The new technology has been designed and is being developed with the goal of providing touch solutions more sensitive and responsive than those currently available.
The DST basically consists of a layer of “glass with specific design” is able to identify the inputs provided by nibs that fingers, with high precision and without increasing the thickness of the glass. Products with DST will be launched by the end of this year 2010.
